What is https //aka.ms/remoteconnect?

The Microsoft Remote Connect system, also called https or ms remoteconnect is used to make Minecraft games playable on different platforms. Without the system, you can’t play Minecraft on other devices, like a PS4, a Nintendo Switch, or a Windows PC, and then pick up where you left off.

You must link your Microsoft account to your Minecraft account for this system to work. Once the connection works, your Microsoft account information will be added to the Minecraft information. After that, whenever you sign in to a device with your Microsoft account, all of your Minecraft data will be there. When it works, it’s almost like magic. But, as we already said, many people have trouble using https, also known as “ms remoteconnect,” on their PS4, Switch, and PC.

Now that you know the error, we can discuss why it might happen on your PS4, PS5, or Nintendo Switch.

How to Fix https //aka.ms/remoteconnect Not Working Error?

We’ve put together a list of ways to fix the https, aka ms remoteconnect error, based on how easy they are to use and how well they work. We’ll start with simple things like turning off and on your devices, but we’ll also talk about more complicated stuff like reinstalling Minecraft.

Fix #1 Restart Your Device

When you see https://aka.ms/remoteconnect, the first thing you should do is restart the device. It works for your PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, Android, and iOS devices. If the error was caused by a network or device problem, it should be gone by then. We’ve already said that this step is pretty simple, but it works more often than you might think. A simple restart of your PS4 or Switch can fix many errors.

After you restart the device, it will only take a few seconds to get back to playing Minecraft.

Fix #2 Log Out from Other Devices

You must ensure that your account is not being used on other devices. In that case, you must immediately log out of these devices. If you are signed into more than one device at once, you are more likely to run into the https or ms remoteconnect not working problem.

Try to simultaneously sign in to only one device to keep things simple and running smoothly. We know it’s easier to say than to do, but it’s better than not being able to play Minecraft on any device. After logging out of other devices, try setting up remoteconnect on your PS4 or PS5.

Many Switch and PS4 users have said that this solution helped them eliminate the https or “ms remoteconnect” error.

Fix #3 Remove Corrupted Game Data

As we’ve already said, the error we’re dealing with today is often caused by messed-up game data. So, no matter what device you’re using, you can try to get rid of corrupted game data from the device.

Go to Settings and choose System Settings to get rid of corrupted game data. You can move from Storage to Game storage to find Minecraft’s game data files. You can start Minecraft again after you delete these files.

Since there are no game data files, you must sign in to remoteconnect again. This time, make sure you do everything the right way. When you’re done, you should have no trouble playing Minecraft.

Fix #4 Create a New Microsoft Account

Here is an excellent way to eliminate the https or ms remoteconnect error. You can make a new Microsoft account instead of using the one you already have. Then, you can finish setting up the computer in a few minutes. After this, it will be easy for you to use Remote Connect.

There are, of course, a few problems with the solution. First, you won’t be able to see what you did and what you accomplished on the old account. This could be a problem if you have essential things in your old Minecraft account. On the other hand, if you just started playing Minecraft, you shouldn’t have any trouble starting over with a new Microsoft account.

On the plus side, this solution does not require much work or money. You may already know that making and keeping a Microsoft account is free.

Fix #5 Sign Out and Reinstall Minecraft

As we said in the beginning, if the remote connection doesn’t work, errors can also be caused by software bugs and driver problems. Signing out of your Microsoft account and reinstalling Minecraft on your PS4 or Switch makes sense. Of course, the process won’t take any longer since Minecraft, and its different versions are available on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac through their official game stores.

This solution works on almost any device, so you don’t have to worry about that. If you reinstall Minecraft, it will be easy to get back into the game.

Fix #6: Make sure https://aka.ms/remoteconnect is set up right

Most of the time, https://aka.ms/remoteconnect doesn’t work because the system isn’t set up correctly. So, it makes sense to start over with setting up your system. The steps on each device are a little different, but we’ll review the basics below.

Now that you know how to fix the “https” or “ms remoteconnect not working” error in six different ways, let’s talk about how to set up Microsoft Remote Connect on other devices.
